Dr. Robert Harp
Robert Harp has been in the business world for almost 30 years. He graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1985 (Th.M.) and Wheaton College in 1980 and 1981 (B.A. in Economics and M.A. in Communications). In 2013, he received his D.Min. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Workplace Leadership and Business Ethics).
Business sectors in which he has been involved include commercial real estate, travel and tourism, and technology. In 2007 he became interested in the Faith at Work movement while serving as a MBA Mentor at Biola University’s Crowell School of Business. He also now serves as a member of the Lausanne Workplace Network and the Lausanne Marketplace Ministry Committee.
Dr. Harp’s current business focus is global in scope. He serves as CEO and Publisher of GlobalHotelNetwork.com, a distinguished online media brand in the global travel and tourism industry. GHN is a voice of key aggregated and curated market information and insight to CEOs and tier-1 companies. GHN has a global advisory board consisting of more than 30 hotel company CEOs and presidents and a highly respected and diversified global advisory network, providing economic insights on tourism markets for every region of the world.
A California-licensed real estate broker and CCIM, Harp is a past president and current director of the San Diego CCIM Chapter and a founding director and past president of the Commercial Realtors Association, San Diego County. He is the founder and program chair for the annual San Diego Hospitality Industry Outlook (established in 1994).
Harp also serves as Director of Strategic Initiatives at Biola University’s Crowell School of Business. In 2015, Biola’s Crowell School of Business launched the Biola Startup Competition (shark tank) to encourage faith-based entrepreneurship campus-wide.
