Elisabeth Selzer, PhD

Elisabeth Selzer is the President and CEO of The Mentor Leadership Team. She received her B.A. in psychology and speech communication from Denver University, a M.A. in counseling from Grace University, a M.Div. from Denver Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Education (emphasis in training/performance) from Capella University.

As the President and CEO of The Mentor Leadership Team (2010–present), Dr. Elisabeth Selzer is a key leader in Christianity today. As the head of The Mentor Leadership Team, she dedicates her time to equipping and helping leaders to develop their spheres of influence while addressing the challenges posed by differences in generational, gender and global reach. She is also very influential in the ministry Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) International, where she helps to oversee a Christian ministry devoted to meeting the needs of mothers from conception through kindergarten and to assisting them in their growth as mothers and leaders for Jesus Christ. From 2005–2010, Dr. Selzer was the Director of Leadership Development & Events where she coordinated a training program for more than 30,000 leaders who were impacting their communities for good. Her skills as an effective communicator, mobilizer, and mentorship proponent have been utilized by organizations such as NASA, ConocoPhillips, and the Eglin Air Force Base. Internationally, she speaks at conferences across the globe where she advocates for solid Christian leadership training.

Dr. Selzer’s influence in higher academia and local church ministry is also widely recognized. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at Denver Seminary (2008–present) and Colorado Christian University (2005–present). At Denver Seminary she teaches courses in leadership through hands-on transformational principles designed to impact her students’ lives and ministries. While at Colorado Christian University, she instructs students in Leadership, Business Management, and Theology and uses Scripture and multiple learning styles to integrate the Bible into workplace settings. Prior to her current positions, she was a Professor in Christian Leadership at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska (2004–2008) and a Professor in Theology at Creighton University from 2002–2004. Dr. Selzer’s ministry career also includes work in church settings. She was a youth ministry leader at both Grace Chapel (1999–2000) and Colorado Community Church (1994–1996) and held the position of Women’s Ministry Leader at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Omaha from (1999–2000).

In addition to her work in leadership development and teacher in higher academia, Dr. Selzer is also a published writer. Since 2006, she has penned various articles on mentoring and leadership for both MOPS International and ICMN’s Websites. She has also written for the Leadership Journal of Christianity Today International and for the Christian Leadership Association. She has also published numerous submissions to Fulfill, a Christian women’s leadership magazine.
